About the event

The Accordion Shop is a play by Cush Jumbo that revolves around a shop owner named Mister Allodi, who has been running his shop for generations. One day, he witnesses a significant event when hundreds of young people surge onto the street, all receiving a mysterious text message that prompts them to gather for a riot. The play explores themes of youth, social issues, and the impact of communication on youth behavior, particularly inspired by the London riots of 2011. The production features an ensemble cast, including actors portraying various characters such as a boy, a police officer, and a teacher, all contributing to the dynamic narrative.
